About Arcadis

Arcadis is a global design, engineering, and consultancy firm with a strong presence across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. The company provides solutions across infrastructure, water, environment, and buildings, serving both public and private sector clients.

With tens of thousands of employees worldwide, Arcadis operates across multiple regions and cultures, combining technical expertise with a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and people-focused leadership. The organisation places a strategic emphasis on health, safety, and wellbeing, recognising that empowered and supported leaders are key to driving performance and organisational resilience.

The Challenge.

Arcadis, a global construction and engineering company, recognised that employee wellbeing is a critical component of health and safety across its operations. Leaders and managers were spread across multiple regions and cultures, creating the need for a consistent, scalable approach to psychosocial risk management.

The company needed a programme that:

  • Aligned with internal wellbeing policies and international standards such as ISO 45003
  • Equipped line managers, People Business Partners, and H&S managers with practical skills to identify, assess, and manage psychosocial risks
  • Was accessible, engaging, and relevant for managers across diverse cultural and operational contexts
  • Could be rolled out globally in multiple languages while maintaining impact and interactivity

The Solution.

Wellity Global co-designed the Wellbeing Risk Management Programme, a comprehensive eLearning solution tailored to Arcadis’ global workforce. The programme combines AI-driven simulations, interactive exercises, and practical tools to create an immersive learning experience that supports managers in proactively managing psychosocial risks.

Programme structure:

The programme is delivered in five concise, 20-minute microlearning modules, each designed to be highly practical and accessible for busy managers:

  1. Introduction to Wellbeing Risk Management – Overview of psychosocial risk, the business case for wellbeing, and regulatory frameworks.
  2. Understanding Wellbeing Risks – Key types of psychosocial risks, early warning signs, and the impact on teams and performance.
  3. Identifying Wellbeing Risks – Practical approaches to spotting issues in diverse work environments, including virtual teams and construction sites.
  4. Surveillance and Monitoring – Tools and techniques for ongoing risk assessment, data collection, and reporting, aligned with company procedures.
  5. Management Strategies for Wellbeing Risks – Evidence-based interventions, coaching techniques, and practical guidance for supporting team members.

Global rollout and localisation:

  • The programme is being delivered to managers in multiple countries, including UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, China, Poland, Romania, and the Netherlands.
  • Content is fully translated into 14 languages, ensuring accessibility and cultural relevance.
  • Interactive simulations and scenario-based exercises allow managers to practice responding to real-world challenges, regardless of their location or operational context.

By combining practical guidance, interactive learning, and AI simulations, the programme ensures managers develop the confidence, knowledge, and capability to integrate psychosocial risk management into day-to-day operations.

The Impact.

The Wellbeing Risk Management Programme is set to be fully rolled out across all Arcadis managers and leaders by the end of 2026. Key outcomes include:

  • Managers equipped to identify and address psychosocial risks early, preventing escalation
  • Development of a safer, more resilient workplace culture
  • Enhanced alignment with ISO 45003 and internal wellbeing policies
  • Improved employee wellbeing, engagement, and productivity across multiple regions
  • Consistent application of wellbeing risk management practices across global teams

Through this global eLearning initiative, Arcadis demonstrates its commitment to psychological safety, wellbeing, and responsible leadership, reinforcing its reputation as a forward-thinking employer that values both performance and people.
