About Dreams

Dreams is a leading UK-based retail and furniture provider with a strong national presence and a growing international footprint. Known for its customer-first approach and extensive store network, the organisation operates in a highly competitive, fast-moving retail environment where innovation and adaptability are critical to success.

As part of its continued growth and digital evolution, Dreams embarked on a significant technology-led transformation, introducing new systems and ways of working across the business. This change impacted leaders and teams at multiple levels, requiring not only technical capability but also strong leadership, communication, and resilience to navigate ongoing change.

The Challenge.

As part of a major global transformation project, the organisation was introducing new technology and systems internationally. Leaders needed to:

  • Navigate uncertainty during rapid change
  • Manage resistance and sustain team morale
  • Build personal and team resilience
  • Adopt both technical and behavioural agility

Wellity Global was engaged to design a programme that equipped leaders with the skills, mindset, and emotional intelligence to guide their teams effectively.

The Solution.

The Ice & Fire Programme combined neuroscience, emotional intelligence, and behavioural psychology with highly experiential leadership tools. Delivered globally, the programme included:

  • Interactive workshops with professional actors and scenario-based simulations
  • Experiential exercises, such as the “Lego Bridge,” to model teamwork and adaptability
  • Personal insight tools, including mapping personality strengths and coping strategies
  • Structured reflection and action planning to embed learning

Key learning outcomes:

  • Understanding and managing psychological responses to change
  • Recognising and responding to resistance at multiple levels
  • Building empathy and trust to maintain engagement
  • Strengthening resilience using the six workplace stress factors
  • Developing strategies to manage energy and sustain performance

Programme Structure:

  • Part One – Ice: Building self-awareness, executive function, and strategic thinking; introducing Lewin’s Change Model for adaptability
  • Part Two – Fire: Developing grit, motivation, and purpose to inspire teams; applying practical communication and energy management strategies

The Impact.

The Ice & Fire Programme became a key driver of global change leadership capability, enabling leaders to guide their teams confidently through transformation.

  • Leaders reported a 50% increase in confidence and knowledge
  • 100% of participants would recommend the programme
  • Average evaluation scores of 4.5+ across pace, relevance, engagement, and facilitator expertise

Several leaders also engaged in follow-up coaching to embed learning and support ongoing change.
