About Save the Children

Save the Children is one of the world’s largest international charities, dedicated to improving the lives of children and families facing hardship. Operating across the UK and worldwide, the organisation provides essential services, advocacy, and support at both local and global levels.

Staff work in highly demanding environments, often under intense pressure to respond quickly to the needs of vulnerable children and families. Supporting team wellbeing and resilience is critical to maintaining both staff health and the quality of service delivery.

The Challenge.

One of Save the Children’s frontline teams was experiencing exceptionally high levels of demand and pressure, which began to impact both wellbeing and team dynamics.

The charity wanted a practical, skills-based intervention that would:

  • Equip the team to manage pressure and stress effectively
  • Strengthen communication and collaboration under high-demand conditions
  • Support sustainable delivery of vital services
  • Create a shared sense of responsibility and commitment to wellbeing

The Solution.

Wellity Global delivered Elevate: Practical Skills for Thriving Together, a 3-hour interactive workshop designed to provide tangible strategies for managing pressure and fostering positive team dynamics.

Key features of the workshop:

  • Understanding pressure: Distinguishing between healthy and unhealthy stress, and recognising personal and team responses.
  • Practical strategies: Tools and techniques for managing workload, maintaining focus, and setting boundaries.
  • Collaborative approach: The team co-created a Team Elevate Charter, a set of shared commitments to support wellbeing and performance.
  • Safe environment: Participants reflected on experiences, shared challenges, and practised supporting one another through busy periods.

The workshop combined interactive learning with actionable tools, ensuring staff could apply techniques immediately in their daily work.

The Impact.

The Elevate workshop delivered measurable and immediate benefits:

  • 100% of participants recommended the session
  • Staff reported greater confidence in setting boundaries, communicating needs, and supporting each other
  • Leadership observed improved morale and teamwork, strengthening the team’s ability to deliver vital services sustainably
  • The Team Elevate Charter continues to guide daily interactions, embedding a culture of wellbeing and collaboration

The programme demonstrated how a practical, team-focused intervention can support resilience, improve wellbeing, and maintain high performance even under pressure.
